Meet Jason
Jason Schmid grew up immersed in the world of construction, with a father who was a general contractor and home builder, and a mother who worked as a draftsman before the advent of AutoCAD. In the 1990s, he ventured into entrepreneurship, running an interior design company and a furniture manufacturing business. Over the next two decades, Jason gained extensive experience in property management. In 2023, he successfully oversaw the design and construction of a new-construction ADU in Los Angeles, collaborating with L.A. Expedite to bring the project to life.

CONSULTING
As an ADU Consultant, Jason offers ADU Consulting services tailored for homeowners, investors, and real estate professionals, including ADU Site Consultation, ADU Plan Review, and ADU Project Management Review.
For an ADU Site Consultation, Jason researches the property, conducts a detailed site visit, and provides expert advice to guide clients through their ADU project’s options.
For ADU Plan Review, Jason will ensure the ADU plans comply with local zoning laws, building codes, and regulations. He will review the architectural design for functionality, aesthetics, and alignment with the client’s vision. Additionally, Jason will analyze the practicality of the plans, considering site conditions and construction methods. He will provide an estimate of construction costs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities. Finally, Jason will recommend modifications to enhance the design, efficiency, and sustainability of the ADU.
For ADU Project Management Review, Jason provides hourly expert guidance and technical assistance during any phase of the ADU development, permitting, construction, and finishing processes, as the client requires.
Project Management
As part of ADU Project Management, Jason offers expert guidance and technical assistance across various activities. This includes facilitating meetings, selecting and qualifying architects and/or designers, and reviewing & evaluating bids and designs for planning and design feasibility. In construction, Jason helps with contractor and sub-contractor selection, reviews bids, schedules, and cost estimates, and provides ongoing project oversight to ensure all contractors and sub contractors are working harmoniously toward the client’s end goal. Lastly, in property management, if needed, Jason can assist with tenant and/or property management company selection and contract reviews.
